NCPAD Event

These are photos from the Newaygo County Pagan Awareness Day. The willing photography subjects are members of MERCS who were there to perform and run a boffer list. The common thread throughout this blog will be photos of people and things that I find interesting posing with my blue parasol. Jason (my husband) told me that the photos could be a coffee table book. I'm starting with a blog simply because it's a bit easier for me to organize.

About the Project

I decided to do this project while visiting a local renaissance faire. I realized that there were so many wonderful characters that needed showcasing in some way.

I am part of an entertainment group that attends local faires. As part of my personna, I carry around a bright blue parasol.

It started out with me just handing the parasol to the person I was photographing and thinking "Won't this be fun, to have everyone hold the parasol!" Then I realized it had the potential to be a little more.

So here it is, The Blue Parasol Project. For events that I go to, I'm going to try to capture as many characters as I can holding the parasol. I'll link to the places I was at when I took the photos, and if possible, to the person as well. I won't always be able to do that simply because I don't always know who the person is outside of Faire.

Sit back and enjoy the photos. Let yourself be taken away to a world that is a little odd and a lot of fun.
